Quick synopsis of my talk Thursday at Omaha's YPS. Philosophy, video, and glow necklaces

Quick synopsis of my talk Thursday at Omaha's YPS. Philosophy, video, and glow necklaces This is my second YPS talk.  Last year I talked to a packed house about engaging the Y generation of workers using an attract, retain, recycle ideology we use at Phenomblue.  This year, the talk is a bit more business focused on a major current issue facing startups and entrepreneurs of my “Y” generation and that is the lack of traditional business skills.  We’ll take a look why this problem exists from a ideological standpoint, some ideas on solutions, and how we can evolve to become relevant to the economic development of Omaha and ultimately have a stronger hand in the city’s growth.

The session will be a mix of commentary from myself and a couple of Omaha’s top business minds, discussion, and an audience exercise in self awareness.

See you Thursday!

**UPDATE: Here are the slides for the event, though without context they don't make much sense.. http://www.slideshare.net/joeolsen/joe-olsen-yps-talk-0310

Back to the Future: The Interaction10 Conference Goes Old-School | Designing for Humans | Fast Company

Ixd10 was another great year. Tons of fantastic design and UX content. Amazing that most agencies have not caught onto this event yet. It's the best design conference all year.
